You've found us! - a select group of farms and smallholdings in the historic county of Montgomeryshire in Powys, Mid Wales, nestling in the beautiful green landscape of the Montgomery Canal and River Severn.
Our name, MaLaCHite, was formed from our initials. Malachite is a green semi-precious stone and represents our aim to be 'gems' of the Welsh Borders. We offer quality self-catering as well as bed & breakfast accommodation in wonderful 15th-19th century buildings - original timber-framed farmhouses, tastefully converted barns and even a lock-keeper's cottage - some of them Grade II Listed.
Besides natural local produce and traditional farmhouse cooking, we offer a range of rural pastimes which allow even more enjoyment of our charming local canal, hills, rivers, pastureland and woods.
About an hour's drive from the M6, we can also be reached by train to Welshpool or Newtown - or by private plane to Welshpool airport. We are ideally located for holidays exploring the Welsh Marches and Shropshire borders, mid-Wales and the Welsh mountains, lakes, castles and coast.
